Benevolent goddesses (Goddess-like in Rosalina's case) that watch over their respective worlds and help out the main protagonist from a distance rather than interfere themselves (Unless they have to, of course) They also act as mothers (mother-figure in Palutena's case) towards particular characters (Rosalina for the Lumas and Palutena for Pit)

Connection: The protagonists of the third parts in long-running franchises spanning generations, having parts of their name inherited from the previous main characters of the previous parts. (Yu for Yusei and JoJo for Jotaro.) The two are delinquent youths who often got into trouble with the authorities, eventually getting pulled into a grander conflict involving a mark on their skin. (The Joestar Birthmark and The Mark of the Dragon.) The two fight with spirit warriors, their most notable being ones with “star” in its name (Star Platinum and Stardust Dragon), and even introduced a new method of combat with their series. (Stands and Synchro Monsters.) The two even upgraded these abilities later on in the series that would help them take down the villains in the end. (Jotaro/Star Platinum gained Dio/The World’s time stop ability, and Yusei learned how to Accel Synchro Summon to summon Shooting Star Dragon.) They also fight alongside allies that use similar powers, including someone with a fire motif (Avdol and Jack Atlas), and someone (a group of people in Yusei's case) who shared the aforementioned mark on their skin. (Joseph Joestar and the other Signers.) The two would eventually get involved in grand conflicts in which they had to face off against ancient villains from opposite points in time who took the bodies of familiar individuals. (Dio, who lived since the 1800s and took the body of Jonathan, and Z-One, who came from the future and temporarily assumed Yusei’s identity.)

2 of the main star animal characters of their franchises which are Obscure Japanese Arcade Games/anime made in during the 2000s that utilise Cards
Both are extremely loyal companions to their friends, doing their best to protect them and fighting by their side
Both characters are known to have a Chibi Form, but are more well known as their actual looks based on the creature species they are
Both are linked to a specific item which summons them for battle (Master Leo's Fighter Card and Chomp's Dino Card)
Both also have an item that boosts their power by a lot (Strong Card and Element Booster) which would then be capable of activating a Gold-like Boost on them (Gold Change and DinoTector Armor)
Both are mostly physical fighters but are known to have a mastery of a specific elemental ability (Master Leo's element tends to be Fire while Chomp's specialty is Lightning)
Both characters have ace moves which are stronger than their other moves in their arsenals (Master Leo has his Guts/Master Attack while Chomp has his Super Moves)
Both characters are part of a small cast of the main heroes (Master Leo is part of the Master Animals while Chomp is part of the D-Team), known as the strongest of their team
By the end of their stories, both had to unite with friends and enemies to defeat a greater evil that could have destroyed their world (the Galactical Invaders with Armageddon Vertus and the Space Pirates with the Dark Pterosaur)
Contrasts
Master Leo is a very serious character, focused on his training and guiding his son Celeo and best friend Regulus onto the right path while teaching them the true meaning of battle. Meanwhile Chomp is a bit of a jokester, liking to take a bite onto Max a lot of the time

Charismatic, Demented & Outright Sick Cartoon Hunters (Poacher in Mcleach’s Case), who spend their lives hunting down and killing animals, for sport, and for the fun of it. Both however, spend their eyes stuck on a certain animal (Boog The Bear/Marahute), for their own sick reason (Shaw wanting to kill Boog, to stop a “Animal Invasion”/Mcleach planning to sell the rare eagle, at the highest bidder)
Both are people, who tend to live on the outskirts of a large area (The Canadian Woods/The Australian Outback), where both spend their days, hunting and capturing animals for pleasure
•Both are fairly infamous people in their respected home, mostly down to their hunting, and animal cruelty, as well as additional reasons (Shaw being a crazy hunter, who believes that animals will overthrow humans in the near future/McLeah being a wanted Poacher, for his animal capturing activities)
•Both of them have a charismatic personality, being able to convince someone with their swab mannerisms, mixed with their sense in dark humour
•Both of them primarily use a sniper rifle as their main weapon, with addition weapons at their disposal (Shaw’s brute strength & his truck/McLeach’s Scoped Shotgun & Giant Truck)
•Both of them consistently track down, and hunt a certain animal, for their own petty reasons and desires, with the two already claiminng other animals into their collections (Shaw tying Elliot to the front of his car, after purposely hitting him/McLeach having a entire room, filled with caged animals (of all shapes and sizes)
•Both have been shown to have no problem with wrestling other animals, far stronger than them (Shaw wrestling Boog, who is a bear/McLeach fighting off a group of alligators after falling into a river)
•Both have fallen off a waterfall in their movies
•Both are fairly underrated villains, when it comes to the many existing, with both having a small, but noticeable, cult following
Contrasts
Shaw targets animals in his movie, while McLeach had no problem kidnapping and almost killing a child for information abt the eagle
•Mentally Delusional Hunter Vs Sadistic, Evil Poacher
•Canada Vs Australia
•Original Movie Villain (Although Shaw Appeared in the Halloween Special) Vs Sequel Villain
•Shaw hates animals, and mostly keeps to himself, while McLeach has his pet lizard “Joanna”, help him out
•Shaw ends up surviving, in both the original and the sequels, while McLeach dies after falling down a waterfall

Theme: Two laid-back, selfish killjoy protagonists who tend to seem brash and sarcastic because of their egos, but ultimately are good people who take care of their loved ones. They both saw innocent creatures come into their lives with whom they developed the greatest bond in the entire series by having adventures in their offbeat town.
Connections:
Both are arrogant and self-absorbed Protagonists who tend to be unpopular and to some extent even despised by their peers, however, this does not deflate their enormous Ego and they continue uninterruptedly pursuing their out-of-the-blue plans and activities despite this
Both of them have adventures mainly at school involving their peers and their teachers who remain mainly annoyed by it. Often their town gets involved in their strange adventures and ends up being damaged
Both possess a similar cast including:
A being that has been added to their innocent and friendly lives that is more popular and responsible than them but also more naive (Darwin and Lum respectively) with whom they have a special bond that allows them to communicate with each other no matter how far apart they are (Gumball and Darwin possess a bond that allows them to communicate through their hearts while Lum is able to hear Ataru even though he is in another dimension) and furthermore such a being tends to be rather jealous and possessive of their relationship (although one is brotherly and the other loving) but despite this they are very close.
Both have a mother who does a lot of family union and seems strict, but actually cares about her children (Nicole Watterson and Mrs. Moroboshi)
A lazy and childish father who does not want to assume the role of head of the family (Richard and Mr. Moroboshi respectively). Interestingly, although lazy, Ataru's father owns a job unlike Richard.
They have a character next to them who is generally more intelligent and mature than they are, but who tends to freak out mainly because he or she wants to relate to a particular person or persons (Anais obsessively wants to befriend, while Megane is obsessed with Lum).
Both have rich and arrogant rivals who constantly brag about their money and are big womanizers (Mendo and Tobias, respectively).
They also have classmates who have different styles from their respective sexes and are mistaken for them (Leslie is mistaken for a girl and ryunosuke for a boy).
Both have strained relationships with their teachers, although they have sometimes cooperated with them. (Onsen-Mark and Lucy Simian)
In contrast, they have rather quiet presidents who, however, can also be very strange (Nigel Brown and Tomobiki High School Principal)
Now, here we split the connections into two because the next character, namely Penny, has a lot in common with two characters from Urusei Yatsura: Lum and Shinobu respectively, since they both have very interesting themes that I would like to cover so that's why now the connections will split into two:
Connections between Penny and Lum: Both are the main love interest of the protagonist, kind and caring but also very jealous and even aggressive at times revolving around the theme of marriage even though it comes from two different sides with the other punctually refusing (Lum wants to marry her Ataru but he is not yet ready to accept while the same thing happens for Penny but it is the other way around with Gumball who wants to marry her but she is not yet sure). Both of them at one point were afraid to be with the protagonist for a reason related to their form and anatomy (Penny because of her metaphor ability related to emotions while Lum was bitten by a cow and for some reason her race transforms into cows when they are bitten by them) but eventually the protagonist reassured her by showing her all his love, it was an important turning point for their relationship (because Ataru prove that he really cares for Lum without being cold to her and Gumball began his relationship with Penny)
Connections between Penny and Shinobu: Both of them are/were love interests for the main characters, seemingly good and good girls, in short the classic love interest, but the more the series goes on the more we discover an independent and strong side of them hiding extraordinary power (Penny's shape-shifting ability and Shinobu's incredible strength respectively) also both of them are very romantic and looking for a romantic gesture and an act of true love.
They both experienced a moment when they apparently felt abandoned and realized how wrong their selfish thinking was (Ataru when he was abandoned by Lum felt lost, Gumball when he excluded from his mind all the people of Elmore and thought he was alone). Even if in the end it was all a misunderstanding (Lum hadn't abandoned Ataru but was renewing their passports while Gumball simply blocked everyone out of his head).
Both have handled powerful artifacts capable of deforming reality with the appearance of a banal object (Lum's eye drops and the remote control)
Both possess/have possessed supernatural bad luck, born for completely different reasons (Ataru has had bad luck since he was born while Gumball supposedly has it for a day because he wasted all his luck)
Both make many references to other media in their series and have numerous crossovers
Contrast
They both got to experience a special day that had to do with luck for one and bad luck for the other (Gumball spent an entire day full of bad luck because he apparently had exhausted all his luck while Ataru instead, thanks to the intervention of the devil, became super lucky). Both ended disastrously (Gumball almost dies while Ataru fights with the devil for his soul)
It's funny how they both referenced their cultures very often (Urusei Yatsura references Western culture very often while Gumball does the same with anime)

Connections: Humanoid reptilian warriors from fighting games that lost their people (Reptile's whole race/Lizardman's family). They try to get them back but slowly become more monstrous and wild in the process (Reptile revealing his reptilian appearance/Lizardman becoming more wild). Also historic east vs. west being ninja vs. spartan (Which was an episode of Deadliest Warrior, one of Death Battle's main inspirations). On top of that, after some time travel shenanigans, a young hero defeated the big bad and reset the timeline along with everyone's backstory and before anyone knew each other. This results in Lizardman being a former spartan turned chief of a Lizardman tribe vs Reptile being a shapeshifting outcast banished from his tribe.
