Akame VS Killua is the 51st episode of DBX, featuring Akame from the Akame ga Kill! series and Killua Zoldyck from the Hunter × Hunter series in a battle between anime child assassins.
Exhibition
In a secluded forest, Akame sheaths her Teigu, One-Cut Killer: Murasame, after having assassinated three grown men. Unbeknownst to her, Killua Zoldyck is watcher her closely next to a nearby tree, crouched down. Meanwhile, a man with a gun and a shield tries to kill Akame by shooting at her, but she easily slices the bullet in half and quickly strikes down the man. Killua approaches Akame with his hands in his pockets, and the two child assassins prepare to fight.
Akame lunges at Killua with a slash, but he effortlessly dodges the strike and retaliates, landing two swift hits with his yo-yo. Undeterred, the One-Cut Killer swings her blade again, only for the Godspeed Assassin to leap high into the air, aiming to strike her with his yo-yo. Akame deflects the blow with ease, raising her sword to block, then follows up with two quick swings of her blade, both of which Killua nimbly evades. Finally, she manages to land a hit, delivering a sharp knee to Killua’s midsection. Though he guards with his arms, the force sends him crashing into a tree. Killua narrowly avoids a follow-up attack from Akame that cleaves through a branch, using his speed to propel himself toward another tree. With that momentary advantage, he leaps toward her, using his legs to slam her back into the trunk. Before she can recover, he strikes again, this time delivering a powerful kick that breaks off a chunk of the tree, sending Akame sprawling to the ground.
Quick to react, Killua tries to land on her for another strike, but Akame rolls out of the way just in time. She misses with two quick slashes from Murasame, but her swift kick leaves Killua open. Seizing the opportunity, she delivers two quick slashes, cutting across his defenses. Killua counters by sending his yo-yo hurtling toward her twice. The first shot is deflected by the sheath of her sword, while the second is blocked with her blade itself. Akame presses forward, once again attempting to strike, but Killua dodges with the same effortless grace, evading each of her attacks. Killua then proceeds to use Rythm Echo, creating multiple afterimages of himself as he walks around Akame. With his opponent confused, Killua activates his claws and strikes Akame, briefly downing her as he walks away.
Akame, not going down so easily, Akame cuts her hand and activates her Trump Card, Little War Horn, surrounding herself in purple energy as her eyes glow red. She rushes at her distracted enemy, who notices her transformation and tries to swipe at her with his claws, but she is too fast for him and whacks him away with Murasame. While careening, Akame strikes Killua from all directions, who tries to defend himself with his arms, but is kneed higher into the air by Akame. Akame continues by slashing Killua multiple times before kicking him into the ground. Akame thrusts her sword into the ground, but Killua evades the attack and attempts to launch his yo-yo at Akame to no avail, unable to compete with her speed. Akame knocks Killua into a tree and circles him multiple times. Having had enough, he activates his Nen ability, Godspeed, destroying the tree behind him in the process and leaving his body surging with electricity. This time, he has the speed advantage and manages to land several electricity-charged punches on Akame while also avoiding her attacks. Unable to defend herself, a helpless Akame is subject to a barrage of Godspeed Killua's electric punches before being smacked into the air. Killua punches Akame back into the ground and charges up his Thunderbolt attack.
Killua: Narukami!
Godspeed Killua throws the lightning ball at Akame, which leaves behind a charred crater underneath her. Though she survives the attack, she's left visibly weakened as she struggles to stand up and unsheathe her weapon, with electricity crackling around her body and her eyesight deteriorating. Before she can do anything, she is brutally murdered by Killua, who rips off her head. Reverting back to his normal state, Killua throws away the decapitated head, puts his hands in his pockets, and walks away.
Trivia
Production
- The core connections between Akame and Killua are that they are both anime teenage killers who were trained and tortured by criminal organizations (the Empire and the Zoldyck Family, respectively) to become deadly assassins against their will before quitting said organizations once they grew up. Both of them later joined new associations (the Revolutionary Army and the Hunter Association, respectively) in which they made new friends, prompting a clash with their corpse manipulating siblings (Kurome and Illumi Zoldyck, respectively), who both desired to use their abilities on them because they tried to run away and abandon their previous affiliations. In addition:
- Both participated in deadly and dangerous exams (an exam organized by the Empire and the Hunter Exam, respectively) for over a week in which they fought dangerous inhuman beasts (Kiriko and Danger Beasts, respectively).
- Both were separated from their younger sisters when they were young before reuniting with them (Kurome and Alluka Zoldyck, respectively).
- Both have a mental state where they free themselves from all emotion and focus solely on killing the target.
- Both have unique powers (the Teigu One-Cut Killer: Murasame and lightning-based Transmutation Nen, respectively) which they can use to transform and boost their combat abilities (Trump Card: Little War Horn and Godspeed, respectively).
