Captain Amuro Ray is the main protagonist of the Mobile Suit Gundam series. He appeared in the 98th episode of Death Battle, Optimus Prime VS Gundam, where he and the RX-78-2 Gundam fought against Optimus Prime from the Transformers series.
History
Amuro Ray was once a mechanic on Side 7 of the militaristic Earth Federation until one day, two Zeon soldiers attacked the base to find out about their secret Operation V. It was during the chaos that Amuro got his hands on the manual of their secret weapon, the RX-78-2 Gundam, and decided to pilot it to save the day. However, during the battle, he created a hole in the hull of the space colony, causing his own father to be sucked into space and injuring even more people. With nobody else left to pilot the Gundam, Amuro was officially tasked to take up the role, and would partake in countless battles over the next fourteen years, becoming an ace pilot and a war hero in his own right.
