Asura is the main protagonist of the Asura's Wrath series. He will appear in the 192nd episode and '25 Premiere of Death Battle, Kratos VS Asura, where he will fight against Kratos from the God of War series.
History
12,000 years ago, the demigod Asura lived a happy life alongside his wife and daughter as the Guardian General of Wrath in the Army of Shinkoku. After subduing a giant beast, Asura was summoned by the emperor himself. However, upon his arrival, the emperor died in Asura's arms, branding him as the murderer and a traitor. His former comrades started attacking him, and Asura fled to his home, only to find his wife mortally wounded. With her last breath, she asked Asura to save their daughter, which only made him suffer further. His daughter was imprisoned by his former fellow Guardian Generals, and their commander, Deus, revealed that he was the Emperor's real killer before plunging Asura into Naraka, a land of the dead. His wife had perished, his daughter was kidnapped, and his reputation had been utterly ruined for 12,000 years, until Asura finally awakened in Naraka without most of his memories, but filled with pure, nigh-uncontrollable, vengeance-fueled rage. He escaped back to the mortal realm and made a vow: to kill every single one of his former comrades for betraying him and destroying his family.

- As part of Death Battle's paid YouTube membership, members were able to vote for two matchups to become episodes in Season 10, with one being animated in 2D and one animated in 3D. One of the options for the 3D poll was Kratos VS Asura, being the runner-up[1] but ultimately losing to Cole MacGrath VS Alex Mercer.
- A year later, the very same match would end up as one of the options for Week 5 of the Tournament of Champions, which it won and moved on to Week 10, which it also won and moved on to the Final Week, which it then ultimately lost to Wile E. Coyote VS Tom Cat.
- Kratos VS Asura would eventually come to life as the premiere of Death Battle '25, ironically before Wile E. Coyote VS Tom Cat.
- A year later, the very same match would end up as one of the options for Week 5 of the Tournament of Champions, which it won and moved on to Week 10, which it also won and moved on to the Final Week, which it then ultimately lost to Wile E. Coyote VS Tom Cat.
- Before it was decided Asura would fight Kratos, he was planned for the Season 6 Finale prior to that episode being replaced entirely by All Might VS Might Guy, as revealed by Sam Mitchell on a Reddit AMA.[2] Who Asura's opponent was planned to be in that episode remains unconfirmed.
