- —Asura to Chakravartin
Asura is the titular main protagonist of the video game Asura's Wrath. He appeared in the 192nd episode and '25 Premiere of Death Battle, Kratos VS Asura, where he fought against Kratos from the God of War series.
History
Asura was born a demigod during an ancient time when impure spiritual monsters known as the Gohma ravaged the planet. Powered by a cosmic energy known as Mantra, Asura fought as one of the Eight Guardian Generals, warring against the Gohma for what seemed like forever. At some point, Asura married and had a daughter named Mithra, who had the unique ability to control and amplify Mantra. Despite his comrades' attempts at persuasion, Asura refused to allow his daughter to get involved in the war. One day, Asura was summoned by the demigod emperor himself. However, upon his arrival, the emperor died in Asura's arms, branding him as the murderer and a traitor.
His former comrades started attacking him, and Asura fled to his home, only to find his wife, Durga, mortally wounded. His daughter was kidnapped and imprisoned by his former fellow Guardian Generals, and their commander, Deus, who revealed that he was the emperor's real killer before plunging Asura into Naraka, a land of the dead. It wasn't until 12,000 years later when Asura finally reawakened in Naraka, albeit briefly without most of his memories. What he did have was pure, nigh-uncontrollable, vengeance-fueled wrath, which grew more as he discovered what his former friends had been doing since his banishment. He escaped back to the mortal realm and made a vow, not just to save Mithra, but to kill every single one of the generals-turned-deities for betraying him and destroying his family.

- Kratos VS Asura would eventually come to life as the premiere of Death Battle '25, ironically before Wile E. Coyote VS Tom Cat.

- Before it was decided Asura would fight Kratos, he was planned for the Season 6 Finale prior to that episode being replaced entirely by All Might VS Might Guy, as revealed by Sam Mitchell on a Reddit AMA.[2] Who Asura's opponent was planned to be in that episode remains unconfirmed.
Notes
- ↑ While Asura is more well-known as a video game character, the manga adaptation of Asura's Wrath released about six months before the game of 2012 did.

- ↑ He was almost in this current seasons final episode, but we decided to do something a bit more fun! Asura is going to be in a DB one day though, I'm pretty positive about that.
