- —Blade
Eric Brooks, also known as Blade, is an anti-hero from Marvel Comics. He appeared in the 47th episode of DBX, Blade VS Hellboy, where he fought against Hellboy from the Hellboy series.
History
Eric Brooks was born in 1929 to two human parents; his father was taken prisoner in Latveria, while his mother escaped to England. Unfortunately, as his mother was giving birth, her doctor ended up being a vampire, and feasted on her as she gave birth. This caused some of his vampire genes to find its way into baby Eric's bloodstream, but it didn't convert him into a fully-fledged vampire. Instead, he was turned into a Dhampir, a half-human, half-vampire creature, giving him the powers of a vampire, but without their weakness to sunlight. Eric would grow up on the streets of London until he was adopted by the vampire slayer, Jamal Afari, who taught the young Eric everything he knew about fighting, hunting, and killing vampires, as well as how to control his powers. Eventually, Eric would leave Jamal to become a vampire slayer himself, and took on the name "Blade", now ready to take on any undead creatures of the night who dare to feast on the blood of the living.
