- —Booster Gold
Michael Jon Carter, also known as Booster Gold, is a superhero from DC Comics. He appeared in the 126th episode of Death Battle, Cable VS Booster Gold, where he fought against Cable from Marvel Comics.
History
Michael Jon Carter was a down-on-his-luck football player from the distant future with dreams of making it into the big leagues to support his struggling family. Out of desperation, Michael made bets and purposely threw games in order to earn enough money for treatment for his ailing mother. After Michael served time for his gambling, he managed to find a new job as a security guard for the Metropolis Space Museum and stumbled upon an exhibit for 20th Century superheroes.
Deciding to change his life and become a crime fighter himself, Michael stole a superhero suit and gear, hijacked a security drone named Skeets to be his personal assistant, and used a still working time machine once owned by Rip Hunter to travel back to the late 20th Century. It was there that he made his public debut, saving the life of then-President of the United States, Ronald Reagan, from a supervillain as the new superhero, "Goldstar"... Except, Michael misspoke on live television and got stuck with the name "Booster Gold" instead. Regardless, he would profit off his knowledge of things to come to become a hero and the CEO of his own company. And while he was and still is bit of a smug glory-seeker, his responsibilities as a hero are pure and true, and uses his future knowledge at the upmost urgency, even when he can't profit from it, making Booster Gold a truly one-of-a-kind superhero.
