Clank (born XJ-0461) is one of the main protagonists of the Ratchet & Clank series. He appeared in the 60th episode of Death Battle, Ratchet & Clank VS Jak & Daxter, where he and Ratchet fought against Jak and Daxter from the Jak and Daxter series.
History
XJ-0461 is a robot created by Orvus, the leader of a powerful time-traveling race called the Zoni, and possessed the soul of a Zoni as well. However, he was born on a production line in a factory producing sentry-bots on the planet Quartu. The sentry-bots were built for Chairman Drek, who planned to extract portions of planets and use them for his own new planet. After learning this, XJ-0461 fled the factory immediately and stole an escape shuttle. In his attempt to escape, he was chased by two other robots who shot his ship down, causing him to crash land on the planet Veldin. It was there the robot met Ratchet, the last known living Lombax, who gave XJ-0461 the new name of "Clank". With Ratchet's help, they managed to put a stop to Drek's planet pickpocketing scheme. Working together, Ratchet and Clank would go from an unlikely tag-team to some of the finest warriors in the known universe, saving it from genocidal maniacs to the destruction of space-time.
