Clive Rosfield is one of the main protagonists of the Final Fantasy series. He will appear in the upcoming 202nd episode of Death Battle, Dante VS Clive, where he will fight against Dante from the Devil May Cry series.
History[]
Born the first son of the Archduke of Rosaria, Clive Rosfield grew up under the weight of great expectations, as it was long believed he would become the Dominant of the Eikon of Fire, the Phoenix. Yet, for reasons unknown, the Eikon chose his younger brother, Joshua, instead. Though denied the blessing of Phoenix, Clive refused to be defined by failure. He dedicated himself to becoming the First Shield of Rosaria, vowing to protect Joshua with his life. But one fateful night shattered that resolve as enemy forces infiltrated their castle, killing their father and plunging Rosaria into chaos. This trauma awakened Joshua's dormant powers, unleashing Phoenix's fiery might and in the ensuing inferno, Clive bore witness to a second Eikon of Fire, Ifrit, who seemingly struck Joshua down. Left a conscript to the very forces that destroyed his home, he soon gained his freedom, and upon reuniting with an old friend, he set out on a relentless quest to find and destroy the spirit responsible for his brother's death, no matter the cost.
