Lieutenant Columbo[Note 2] is the main protagonist of the Columbo series. He will appear in an upcoming Bonus episode of Death Battle, Light VS Columbo, where he will fight against Light Yagami from the Death Note series.
History
The man known simply by his surname Columbo was born to Italian-American parents in New York City. His first name? He will have you know it is just "Lieutenant". He joined the police force in Los Angeles as a homicide detective, becoming one of the best there has ever been. He is typically assigned to investigate affluent, arrogant individuals who do their best to cover up their crimes. Although he usually comes off as dim-witted and scatter-minded to his colleagues and criminals alike, this is merely a front that leads to people underestimating him. In reality, he is always stringing together the situation and picking apart alibis piece by piece, and when he has figured it all out, he will leave his suspects thinking his investigation has just come up short. But right as they think they have gotten away with their crime, he always has just one more thing to say — one damning question that will leave the scum of the world locked up where they rightfully belong.

Columbo's silhouette is hidden within the Eye of Sauron when Sauron shatters the Lich King's Frostmourne near the end of Sauron VS Lich King.
A ponyfied version of Columbo can be seen while Bill Cipher and Discord spin the world at the beginning of Bill Cipher VS Discord.
A blurry vision of Columbo can be seen while Makima is trapped in Gojo's Unlimited Void at the end of Gojo VS Makima.
Columbo appears behind the third door that Courage opens during the chase in Scooby-Doo VS Courage the Cowardly Dog.
The ponyfied version of Columbo from an earlier cameo appears on the side of the "Cameo Drop" arcade machine during Rick Sanchez VS The Doctor.
Columbo can be seen in one of the windows in the opening sequence of Galactus VS Unicron.
