Demitri Maximoff is one of the main protagonists of the Darkstalkers series. He appeared in the 36th episode of DBX, Alucard VS Demitri, where he fought against Alucard from the Castlevania series.
History
Demitri is a Makai vampire who lives in a castle within Romania that only appears during a full moon. 100 years ago, Demitri decided to challenge Belial Aensland, the ruler of Makai, for the ownership of the realm. However, he lost, and was exiled from Makai as a result. He retreated to his castle, where he would spend the next 100 years regaining his strength by staying within his casket and covering it with a supernatural field to avoid sunlight, only coming out on full moon nights to satiate his hunger for blood. But sometimes, his meals would come directly to him, as people would wander into his castle seeking to slay Demitri, only to be feasted on, with those who were bit by him becoming his loyal servants. After regaining his full strength, he would encounter the heir of the Aensland family and current ruler of Makai, Morrigan, and challenged her in order to make up for the humiliating loss he suffered a century ago, stopping at nothing in order to rule Makai.
