Interlude
Ringmaster: Welcome one and all to MY arena where you decide the outcome! No rules, only bloodshed! I am Ringmaster and this is the exhibitiooon!
Ringmaster: Heh, heh, heh. So it turns out Wiz is responding to my casting calls with uh, (snap) (snap) litigation. Bah! Who needs him? Who needs anybody? Well, legally I do. So we're bringing back my best boy: B-, b-, b-, Boomstick!
Boomstick walks on stage with Mecha-Goose Howard on a leash.
Boomstick: My day to walk Mecha-Goose Howard. Also thought it'd be thematically appropriate, or whatever.
Mecha-Goose Howard: (honk)
Ringmaster: (sigh) C'mon, buddy. Look, (sigh), we had our artistic spats, and... then I broadcast it to the entire internet... b-but we're still united in our love of violence! Here, I'll even let you ride on the floaty-thing with me, c'mon!
Boomstick gives a skeptical look at first, but once Ringmaster offers the ride, Boomstick can't resist, and hops onto the floaty-thing, bringing his college pal in for a hug.
Cartoon Capers by Terry Devine-King ![]() ![]() |
Boomstick: Oh, Marshall! I can't stay mad at you!
Mecha-Goose Howard: (honk)
Ringmaster: Ha ha! We're like two peas in a-. (whispers) Boom, your (unintelligible) (normally). Two peas in a pod!
Boomstick: Or should we say, two ducks in a pond?
Donald Duck
Ringmaster: "Who's never wrong, but always right? Who'd never dream of starting a fight?"
Boomstick: "♫Who gets stuck with all the bad luck? No one-♫"
Ringmaster: (angry Donald Duck noises)
Boomstick: "♫-but Donald Duck!♫"
Ringmaster: Yeah! If you thought The Incredible Hulk was the avatar of pure rage, well, you've never met this duck!
Boomstick: As my therapist has repeatedly told me for years, Donald simply lacks coping mechanisms.
A chibi Ringmaster appears, looking angry. His face turns red, before exploding into a pile of ashes.
Ringmaster: Donald's a true renaissance bird. He's an enlisted naval soldier, a swashbuckling adventurer, and even a family man who cares for his three nephews and uncle Scrooge.
Boomstick: And he's a stupidly powerful mage too! He's the only wizard in Square Enix history to perform the Zettaflare! Weaker versions of that spell blow up freakin' planets!
A chibi Ringmaster appears and throws a rubber duck at a floating Earth about half his size, blowing up a large chunk of it on the duck's impact. He then covers his mouth with his hands in shock and shakes.
Ringmaster: Donald really does have the power of gods and anime on his side. Too bad he's absolute garbage at healing himself and others. Where were you when I needed you against Ursula, Donald?? I needed you!!
Daffy Duck
Boomstick: And speaking of co-dependent relationships, who would know better about bein' number two than the shmuckiest duck of them all:
Ringmaster: Daffy Duuuck! Once the Looney Tunes zany star ascendant, now the jaded second fiddle. If I were to pick Daffy's greatest strength, I'd say it's his perseverance.
Boomstick: I've never seen anyone take so many shotgun shells to the beak point-blank! And trust me, I-, I've shot a lot of people in the face.
A chibi Ringmaster stands peacefully before being poked on the back of his head by a giant pistol. He turns around and briefly looks shocked before he gets shot, knocking him down and leaving his hair floating in the air for a while for a while before falling onto the ground.
Ringmaster: Ever the tenacious, glory-seeking loner, Daffy will stop at nothing to prove himself the greatest among all tunes!
Boomstick: Even if that means taking on the animator himself! It didn't go great at first, but he got his revenge eventually.
A chibi Ringmaster runs across the screen being chased by a giant pencil, which rubs him out until there is nothing left.
Ringmaster: Daffy's worn many-a-hat in his time! Robin Hood, Tune Squad, Green Lantern and of course, the space-faring DUCK DODGERS, OF THE 24TH AND A HALF CENTURY! Not even the infinite march of time can slow Daffy's hustle.
Boomstick: Too bad if there's a joke, he's guaranteed to be its butt. I feel you there my feathered friend.
Prelude
Boomstick: And though I majored in Poultry Science, I got a minor in Water Fowl. So buckle up, because I've done my research.
Ringmaster: (gasp) Et tu, Boomstick! No research- (unintelligible)
Boomstick: Oh, woah! Woahoahoahoahoah!
Ringmaster argues with Boomstick, causing the flying platform they're standing on to float around wildly, agitating Mecha-Goose Howard who starts firing beams out of his mouth everywhere, sending the platform crashing into the ground and exploding, leaving the two on the ground amongst rubble.
Ringmaster: (struggling) Ohoho.. As always, the results in the showdown are up to youuu.. Let the exhibition.. j-, jus-, j-, just start it or whatever.. Oh, my back..
Boomstick raises his arm..
Boomstick: (struggling) Ugh.. it's time for a.. Duck Battle!
..before it falls limp back down.
Mecha-Goose Howard: (honk)
Exhibition
Chase Me by Andrew Cottee ![]() ![]() |
A title card reminiscent of an old cartoon appears.
An arcade game-style main menu appears.
Game A is selected.[Note 1] The game starts, showing a peaceful land, when suddenly the sun gets shot, angering it. The shot is revealed to have come from Donald Duck's shotgun, while he is happily walking through a forest, when he suddenly notices someone.
Donald Duck: (unintelligible Donald Duck noises)
Daffy Duck: ♫La-ta-tee-la-ta-doo-da♫
Daffy Duck is lying against a rock, relaxing in a pond. Donald, laughing and smiling evilly to the camera, raises the shotgun to Daffy's face. Daffy opens one eye, then is shot. We cut to the results screen, where Donald has received 100% of the votes, before Daffy interrupts.
Daffy Duck: No, no, no! Hold on there buster!
Daffy's beak is now on the other side of his face from the shot.
Daffy: I hope you know, this means war.
Donald jumps back, reloading his shotgun. Daffy notices, and quickly swims through the pond towards Donald.
Daffy: Ooh! Waoohbrrrrrrrrr!
Donald prepares to shoot Daffy, but Daffy sticks his finger in the barrel, causing the shot to fire out the back of the gun and hitting Donald instead, his face now covered in ashes. Donald jumps around angrily, shaking off the ashes.
Donald: (noises of anger)
Daffy is standing smugly, arms crossed, before being hit over the head down onto the ground by Donald. Daffy then rolls into an uppercut on Donald. Daffy puts up his fists.
Daffy: Put 'em up, put 'em up, put 'em up!
Donald proceeds to hit Daffy over the head with a large mallet, flattening him. Daffy counters by pulling a nearby rope, dropping a piano on Donald. The piano explodes as Donald jumps up angrily. Wielding his shotgun, he looks around for Daffy, and fires as he sees him, but Daffy dodges every shot and moves all around the area, laughing as he does so.
Daffy: Hoo hoo! Whoo hoo! Hoo hoo! Hoo hoo! Hoo hoo! Hoo! Hoo hoo! Ha hoo! Hoo! Whoo hoo! Hoo hoo hoo hoo! Whoo hoo hoo!
An angered Donald, with his face red, fires at Daffy but misses again. Daffy now appears behind him. Donald's elongated arm then grabs him by the neck. Daffy is suddenly wearing glasses.
Daffy: You wouldn't hit a guy with glasses, would you?
Donald proceeds to punch Daffy in the face, hitting the glasses off. Donald then rolls Daffy into a ball and throws him in the pond. A video-game like score of '+100' appears as Daffy lands in the pond.
Daffy: A set!
Suddenly, Scrooge McDuck comes out of the sky, hitting Daffy over the head with his cane, sending Daffy's eyeballs flying.
Donald: Uncle Scrooge!?
The sky darkens.
Donald: What the-
Lightning strikes, briefly illuminating the dark figure standing on top of a tree. The figure then drops down and does a pose, revealing themselves to be none other than Darkwing Duck. Daffy gets back up, pushing down a bump on his head from being hit by Scrooge's cane.
Daffy: The terror that flaps in the night?
Another duck suddenly jumps out a bush behind Daffy.
Duck Dodgers: Did someone call for DUCK DODGERS IN THE 24TH AND A HALF CENTURY!
Donald: Oh great, now there's two of them?
The camera pans to someone's hand.
Geese Howard: Reppuken!
Geese Howard sends a Reppuken at the ducks, with them all looking in fear.
Donald: Ahhh!
Daffy: Ooh!
A large explosion occurs.
Donald and Daffy: Ow!
Geese Howard: Heh! Come on!
Goose: (honk)
Geese Howard is joined by the Goose. The ducks are now covered in ashes with smoke coming off them.
Daffy: Wrong species bub! Only ducks allowed!
Donald: Yeah, beat it bub!
Geese Howard: Sad!
Geese Howard, now frowning and with his arms down walks away, joined by the Goose.
Goose: (honk)
Donald shakes off his ashes, as he and Scrooge rush towards Daffy and Duck Dodgers, who also rush towards them. Darkwing Duck cries as he is caught in between the two groups. Both groups fight inside a large dust cloud, with various limbs poking out at points. As the duck from Duck Game walks by, he gets pulled by Daffy into the fight. Within the cloud, Scrooge hits Dodgers with his cane, Darkwing Duck fires a shot at Daffy which he narrowly avoids as it hits Donald instead before being tackled by a flying Dodgers. The duck from Duck Game fire two shots randomly.
Duck from Duck Game: (quack)
Donald and Daffy then stroll out of the dust cloud through a door.
Daffy: Getting a bit excessive, don't you think?
Donald: Yeah.
The two then get angry again, preparing to fight each other as the screen focuses on each of them. The two run towards each other, only to engage in a pathetic slap fight, before both jumping back.
Donald attempts to pull out his shotgun again, but finds that it is missing, and looks around for it, before looking towards Daffy.
Daffy: Hoo hoo!
Daffy pulls out Donald's shotgun, smiling evilly, devil horns appearing on him and flames behind him.
Donald: Waaaah!
Donald attempts to run away, but cannot as Daffy shoots him. '+100' appears over Donald as he dies, falling over. Daffy then shoots into the dust cloud where the rest are still fighting, hitting Uncle Scrooge and Darkwing Duck, a '+100' appearing for them both. Duck Dodgers runs away. The duck from Duck Game, already seemingly dead on the ground, quacks one last time before a '+50' appears above him. Daffy blows away the smoke from his shotgun.
Daffy: Victory thy name is Daffy!
Daffy throws away his shotgun, throwing his hands up in the air in celebration, when suddenly a red crosshair aims over him.
Daffy: You're despicable!
Daffy then is shot, feathers flying off him and a "+1" appearing.
Daffy: Oooooh!
Daffy lands in a bush, before being picked up by the dog from Duck Hunt, as the Duck Hunt jingle plays.
The camera zooms out, revealing the entire fight having been played on a television by Daffy's rival, Bugs Bunny, who is wielding a smoking gun reminiscent of an NES Zapper. Bugs then turns to the camera.
Bugs Bunny: Nyeh. Ain't I a stinker?
The screen then closes on Bugs' face.
Donald rushes towards Daffy and kicks him, knocking the rocket launcher he was holding out of his hands. Donald then pulls out his staff to perform the Zettaflare.
Donald: Zettaflare!
Daffy stands up as the Zettaflare approaches him, his feathers ruffled. He looks towards the camera.
Daffy: Mother—
Daffy gets hit and is pushed along by the Zettaflare, which also hits Scrooge McDuck, Darkwing Duck, Duck Dodgers and the duck from Duck Game who are still fighting inside the dust cloud. The Zettaflare tears across the Milky Way, before shattering it into pieces like glass. Donald, now standing in a burnt and flaming battlefield looks towards his opponent. Daffy, now with burnt and with all his feathers missing, delivers one last line.
Daffy: I hate you.
Daffy crumbles into a pile of ashes, which the screen closes in on.True Ending

Trivia
Production
- The core connections between Donald and Daffy are that they are both anthropomorphic cartoon ducks known for their terrible luck, short tempers, and speech inpediments who play second fiddle to the most popular characters in animated history (Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny, respectively) and have grown bitter and envious because of the fact. In addition:
- The two have famously fought each other before in the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit, where both ducks competed in a "dueling pianos" act playing Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 at the Ink and Paint Club.
- Footage from that scene is shown in this episode when Boomstick segues into Daffy's segment.
- The two have famously fought each other before in the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit, where both ducks competed in a "dueling pianos" act playing Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 at the Ink and Paint Club.
- When the vote results are revealed, Daffy Duck says his signature "WOO HOO!", but in the alternate ending, Donald can be heard laughing instead.
