The Drones are antagonists from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They appeared in the 190th episode of Death Battle, Bowser VS Eggman, where they, Doctor Eggman, and the rest of his army fought against Bowser and his Koopa Troop from the Super Mario series.
History
The Drones are egg-shaped robots designed by an alternate version of Doctor Robotnik, who was a manic yet brilliant scientist working for the government before turning evil after crossing paths with Sonic the Hedgehog. The Drones' egg-like designs are even what led to this version of Sonic giving him the nickname of "Eggman". They use advanced scanning technology to search for Sonic's unique energy signature and are equipped with weapons such as lasers, explosives, or even spinning blades. One notable feature of the Drones is their ability to adapt and repair themselves, with one in particular using junkyard scrap to make itself more dangerous.
