The E-1001 Egg Pawns are antagonists from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They appeared in the 19th episode of Death Battle, Eggman VS Wily, where they, Doctor Eggman, and the rest of his army fought against Doctor Wily and his Wily Army from the Mega Man series. They returned for the 190th episode, Bowser VS Eggman, where they, Doctor Eggman, and the rest of his army fought against Bowser and his Koopa Troop from the Super Mario series.
History
Egg Pawns are robots designed by Doctor Eggman to destroy Sonic the Hedgehog. Unlike the simpler more animal-inspired Badniks, Egg Pawns are humanoid robots designed to serve as the primary foot soldiers in the Eggman Empire. They have a somewhat comical, egg-shaped look, reflecting their creator, and are equipped with a variety of weapons, including blasters, hammers, bazookas, spears, and shields, making them versatile and dangerous. They often march in groups and try to overwhelm Sonic and his friends with their numbers. While individually weak and easy to defeat with a single hit, their strength lies in their numbers and the various tools they use.
