Emperor Sheev Palpatine, also known as Darth Sidious, is the main antagonist of the Star Wars series. He appeared in the 94th episode of DBX, Palpatine VS Xehanort, where he fought against Master Xehanort from the Kingdom Hearts series.
History
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Sidious, the Galactic Emperor? I thought not. It is not a story the Jedi would tell you. It is a Sith legend. Sheev Palpatine was a Senator of Naboo, and secretly a Dark Lord of the Sith, who had just recently murdered his own master to further his plans. He had such a devious plan, that he manipulated the Jedi, the Galactic Republic, and Seperatists into a galaxy-wide war, all to become supreme chancellor of the Galactic Republic. He manipulated the Chosen One, who was destined to bring balance to the Force, onto a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became the Emperor of the Galactic Empire after a coup on the Jedi and became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was dying, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, the apprentice he corrupted ended up throwing him into the abyss, and a safety measure to cheat death itself ended up taking his life once and for all. Ironic. He made so many plans to defeat death, but ended up being defeated as a result of them.

- ↑ While Palpatine made his proper debut in The Empire Strikes Back, which was released in 1980, a few months before the release of the A New Hope in 1977, the official novelization was published, which curiously contained references to Palpatine and outlined his rise to power.
