- —Ragna the Bloodedge
Ragna the Bloodedge is the main protagonist of the BlazBlue series. He appeared in the 41st episode of Death Battle, Ragna VS Sol Badguy, where he fought against Sol Badguy from the Guilty Gear series.
History
Betrayed and left to die by his own brother due to jealousy and manipulation, young Ragna was both blessed and cursed when a mysterious vampire named Rachel Alucard saved his life, resurrecting him as a Dhampir, causing one of his green eyes to turn red and his once-blonde hair to white. Unbeknownst to him, Rachel also grafted an Azure Grimoire, a piece of the infamous destroyer known as the "Black Beast", onto the stump of Ragna's severed arm. He was then trained in the ways of combat by the warrior cat, Jūbei, which helped Ragna obtain a level of control over this new appendage, further amplified when he was given his blade, the Blood Scythe.
He would then run rampant on the oppressive government that ruled the world, Novus Orbis Librarium. His actions, which included destroying a countless number of their branches, have labeled him the most wanted criminal and caused him to receive the largest bounty ever in the history of the NOL. His ultimate goal is to destroy the NOL, for he blames them for destroying his family. But he always takes into account what Jūbei last said to him, that he must never think of the Azure Grimoire as his own. For if he loses control of himself, it will turn him into the Black Beast itself.
