Frieza VS Mewtwo is the 75th episode of DBX, featuring Frieza from the Dragon Ball series and Mewtwo from the Pokémon series in a battle between powerful white and purple psychics.
Interlude
The scene opens with the lights flickering on in the arena and the camera panning over to reveal the large crowd of people watching the show. Ringmaster makes his appearance as he steps onto the main stage and walks towards his microphone which he then grabs in order to properly introduce himself to his audience.
Ringmaster: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to MY Arena where there's no rules, no research, only bloodshed! I am Ringmaster! Your announcer, your host extraordinaire for this extravaganza! And let me welcome you, to, the EXHIBITION!!! In today's match, we have two fantastic, fear-mongering fighters! In this corner, we have the self-proclaimed ultimate being, the Pokémon of legend, MEWTWO!!! And in the other corner, we have the self-proclaimed emperor of the universe, and enslaver of races, FRIEZA!!! Let's size up the competition!
Comparison
Ringmaster: Not only do these two combatants both clearly have quite the ego, but they both happen to be purple as well, so there's that. However, in more exciting news, both combatants can fire massive balls of energy. In fact, Frieza's massive balls can even destroy planets! But that doesn't mean Mewtwo isn't without his tricks too. This Pokémon does more than just look like Black China, it can read minds, bend spoons...
We see an animation of Ringmaster use telekinesis on a spoon on a table, bending it.
Ringmaster: And even stop time! On top of that, Mewtwo not only has the DNA of every Pokémon ever, but also their attacks as well, now that's an arsenal! Can it stack up to Frieza's intense martial arts, cunning trickery, and deadly repertoire of ki attacks? Only time will tell, and did I mention they both have prehensile tails? Neat! Oh, and there's this old fact, they can both transform into more powerful forms! Mewtwo actually has two transformations: Mewtwo X and Mewtwo Y. Both offering their own unique advantages, and for Frieza: Well, his Golden transformation makes him leagues more powerful, but most importantly...
We see an animation of Ringmaster in a tuxedo holding an Oscar-esque statue that looks like Frieza.
Ringmaster: It makes him look like a little alien Oscar.
We cut to Ringmaster.
All this means these masters of menace are bound to put on one fantastic show! So, without further ado, let the exhibition BEGIIIIIIIN!!!

Trivia
Production
- The connections between Frieza and Mewtwo are that they are both powerful, white and purple, tailed, inhuman psychics with strikingly-similar designs. Both are egotistical, have energy attacks, and have multiple transformations that increase their power (Golden Frieza and Black Frieza, and Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y, respectively).
- Before Mewtwo fought Shadow the Hedgehog on Death Battle, Frieza was one of his most requested opponent, alongside Silver the Hedgehog. To address this, Ben Singer made a chart of why Mewtwo was pitted against Shadow and not Frieza or Silver, with the chart saying that the only connections between Mewtwo and Frieza are that they have similar designs.
- It was then later brought up in the 64th episode of DEATH BATTLE Cast, where Ben explains that they don't only choose matchups based on popularity, but also what would be the most interesting or entertaining, citing Mewtwo VS Frieza as an example of a popular matchup they didn't pick.[1]
Errors
- Pokémon is spelled as "Pokemon" with no accented e in the title's parentheses.
