Trunks Briefs[Note 1] is a protagonist from the Dragon Ball series. To differentiate him from his present timeline counterpart, he is commonly referred to as Future Trunks. He appeared in the sixth episode of DBX, Trunks VS Silver, where he fought against Silver the Hedgehog from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. He returned for the 72nd episode, Link VS Trunks, where he fought against Link from the The Legend of Zelda series.
History
Born in a dystopian future created by the fiendish Android 17 and 18, Trunks is a well-mannered but serious Saiyan warrior, trained in his teens by the late Goku's son, Gohan. Trunks soon became a gifted fighter, swordsman and Super Saiyan before his master unfortunately died in a fight with the Androids. Enraged, he fought them again, and after another close escape at Bridgetown, his mother revealed her time machine to her son, which she hoped he could use to return to the past and save Goku, hopefully altering the future. Unfortunately, the changes he did in the past didn't affect his future, only affecting the present timeline we know. But he had just the power necessary to outclass the Androids as well as the Bio-Android Cell.
Unfortunately, his timeline fell under siege yet again due to the arrival of Goku Black and Zamasu, who ultimately succeeded in their goal, and could only be vanquished with the help of the Omni-King Zeno, who destroyed the entire universe. Trunks was then forced to settle in a new timeline with his companion, Mai. But should the need ever arise again, he will do whatever he can to protect the future.
Cameo Appearances
Trunks appeared before the battle in Goku VS Superman, where he watched the news about Superman's heroic deeds on TV alongside the rest of the Z-Fighters.
