Remy Etienne LeBeau, also known as Gambit, is a superhero from Marvel Comics. He appeared in the 41st episode and Season 3 Premiere of DBX, Gambit VS Taskmaster, where he fought against fellow Marvel mercenary Taskmaster.
History
The child who would be known as Remy LeBeau was born a mutant and kidnapped as an infant by the Thieves Guild, who believed he was prophesied to unite them and the Assassins Guild. Raised by thieves and taught in the way of thievery, the young Remy attempted to pickpocket Jean-Luc LeBeau, the leader of the Thieves Guild. Impressed, Jean-Luc adopted Remy as his own son. Remy would later unlock his mutant powers which granted him the ability to charge inanimate objects and cause them to explode, which he preferred to do with playing cards, leading to him taking the alias of "Gambit". His criminal upbringing would eventually lead to him working for the villainous Mister Sinister. Eventually, after befriending fellow mutant thief, Storm, he was invited to join the mutant superhero team, the X-Men, where he had the opportunity to redeem himself. Although his morals often conflicted with the rest of the team, his soft spot for abandoned kids allowed him to befriend many of its members, especially Rogue, whom he developed a romance with. Although his dark past may sometimes get in the way, Gambit continues to fight for good alongside the X-Men.
