- —Hakumen
Hakumen (born Jin Kisaragi) is a protagonist from the BlazBlue series. He appeared in the 56th episode of DBX, Vergil VS Hakumen, where he fought against Vergil from the Devil May Cry series.
History
Public information surrounding the stoic white-clad swordsman known only as "Hakumen" is incredibly limited, only that he is the leader of an elite band of warriors. But underneath the helm lies a man once known as Jin Kisaragi, the younger brother of infamous criminal, Ragna the Bloodedge. However, this Jin is from an alternate timeline, in which he witnessed Ragna being impaled at the hands of the Murakumo Unit Nu-13, who had a bizarre likeness to his sister. In a confused rage, Jin lashed out, but would be stopped by his secretary as she sacrificed herself for an attack meant for him. She died in his arms, and with nothing left to lose, Jin would pursue Ragna and Nu as they plummeted towards the depths of the Cauldron.
To Jin's surprise, however, he was unexpectedly sent back one hundred years into the past, now broken physically and mentally from his injuries. Miraculously, he would be brought into the castle belonging to vampires Rachel and Clavis Alucard. There, Jin was offered with the all-powerful armor called the Susanoo Unit, that would've granted him limitless power, at the cost of abandoning his humanity. Face to face with the chance to finally eliminate the ravenous Black Beast for good, Jin chose to don the armor. On that day, Jin Kisaragi had died. What resurfaced was the White Void, Hakumen, fueled by hatred against the Black Beast. But while he may have lost nearly every trace of the man he once was, Hakumen's quest would see him correct the many mistakes of his past, forging a new identity as a truly noble figure.
