- —Jeanne to Bayonetta
Jeanne is one of the main protagonists of the Bayonetta series. She appeared in the 58th episode and Season 3 Premiere of Death Battle, Dante VS Bayonetta, where she and Bayonetta fought against Dante and Trish from the Devil May Cry series.
She also appeared in the Series Pilot episode of DBX, Trish VS Jeanne, where she fought against Trish from the Devil May Cry series.
History
Jeanne was born the heir to the Umbran Throne, and was a long-time friend of her fellow Umbra Witch and outcast, Cereza. As part of her final trial, Jeanne had to engage combat with another Witch of the clan. Despite it being forbidden at the Umbran Elder's insistence, she chose her friend, Cereza, as her opponent. During the combat trial, the Angels of Paradiso attacked the clan and both Jeanne and Cereza fought off the attackers. Upon reaching a room full of slain Witches, with her mother Rosa among them, Cereza lost her will to fight. Seeing this, Jeanne used a special dagger to impale Cereza and seal her away along with her memories and put her in a five hundred year-long coma. In the present day, Jeanne would be brainwashed by Cereza's father, Balder to fight Cereza, now known as Bayonetta. She would later be free of Balder's control and fight alongside her childhood friend and rival once again.
