Kenshin Himura (born Shinta Himura) is the main protagonist of the Rurouni Kenshin series. He appeared in the 17th episode of DBX, Kenshin VS Zoro, where he fought against Roronoa Zoro from the One Piece series. He returned for the 83rd episode, Kenshin VS Law, where he fought against Trafalgar Law from the One Piece series.
History
Kenshin Himura was born to a peasant family and grew up a slave until the day he was rescued by the swordsman, Hiko Seijuro XIII. Under Seijuro's care and tutelage, Kenshin would develop his "Flying Heaven Govern Sword-Style", a swordsmanship style that, to this day, is nearly unmatched. He would go on to fight against the oppressive Tokugawa Bakufu during the Bakumatsu era, putting his swordplay to deadly use and earning him the title of "Hitokiri Battōsai", which means "sword-drawing manslayer". But Kenshin would soon realize just how much unnecessary bloodshed and turmoil he was causing, which led to the death of his first love. Ever since then, Kenshin left the battlefield and became a wandering ronin, swearing to never kill again unless it was absolutely necessary, taking a reverse blade sword to honor that vow. Kenshin would later settle under a woman named Kamiya Kaoru, traveling the countryside offering protection and aid to those in need as atonement for the murders he once committed as an assassin, making new friends and enemies along the way.
