- —Liu Kang
Lord Liu Kang is the main protagonist of the Mortal Kombat series. He appeared in the ninth episode of DBX, Bruce Lee VS The World, where he alongside Fei Long from the Street Fighter series, Rock Lee from the Naruto series, Marshall Law from the Tekken series, and a Hitmonlee from the Pokémon series fought against real life martial artist and actor Bruce Lee. He returned for the 65th episode, Ryu VS Liu Kang, where he fought against Ryu from the Street Fighter series.
History
Orphaned at a very young age, Liu Kang was raised by Shaolin monks, who taught him the way of the spiritual warrior. When the threat of Outworld became imminent, they soon recognized his potential as a contender for the Mortal Kombat tournament, which was Earthrealm's only chance of preventing Outworld from merging themselves together, and rigorously trained him for this task. The Elder God Raiden also understood that Liu Kang was Earthrealm's best hope for freedom and introduced him to Master Bo' Rai Cho to further his development. Once fully trained, Liu Kang embarked on a fateful journey to compete in this pivotal kontest, and won them two consecutive times. Under Raiden's tutelage, Liu Kang would not only eventually become his successor, but also lay waste to some of Outworld's most fiendish foes, becoming a legend throughout the realms.
Cameo Appearances
Liu Kang made a cameo appearance during the alternate ending to Shao Kahn VS M. Bison shown impaled on a spike due to the two bosses' newfound friendship.
