- —Luigi
Luigi[Note 2] is one of the main protagonists of the Super Mario series and the main protagonist of the Luigi's Mansion series. He appeared in the 32nd episode of Death Battle, Luigi VS Tails, where he fought against Tails from the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
He also appeared in the 28th episode of DBX, Mario VS Luigi, where he fought against his brother Mario.
History
Long ago, the trusted adviser of the Royal Koopa Line, Kamek, prophesized that two babies would cause disaster that would befall the Koopas. In order to prevent this, Kamek attempted to abduct the young Star Children, but ultimately failed thanks to the intervention of the Yoshis. The two babies would grow up to become Mario and Luigi, plumbers extraordinaire. Luigi is the not-as-famous younger of the two, living somewhat in his brother's shadow. Though he did not show it publicly, Luigi was agitated by this. Though he still loved Mario, he secretly envied the attention his brother got, venting out his frustrations in a diary and wishing that he would have his own solo adventure one day. Luigi would soon get just that when Mario was captured by the sinister King Boo in a falsely-advertised haunted mansion. From that point forward, Luigi began to be known as himself instead of just a recolored Mario. Over time, the brothers became the official "superstars" of the Mushroom Kingdom, and have continued to thwart the many evil forces that dare threaten their world ever since. And no matter the timidness or fear he might feel at times, Luigi will never falter in the face of danger.

Notes
- ↑ While it's commonly believed that Luigi made his official debut in the arcade version of Mario Bros., which was released on June 21st, 1983 (something that Nintendo themselves acknowledged during the Year of Luigi), Luigi made his actual debut in the Game & Watch version of Mario Bros., which was released around three months earlier on March 14th, 1983.
- ↑ Luigi's full name being "Luigi Mario" is disputed, as it has both been confirmed and denied by multiple official sources.
