- —Magneto
Erik Magnus Lehnsherr (born Max Eisenhardt), also known as Magneto, is a supervillain/anti-hero from Marvel Comics. He appeared in the 161st episode of Death Battle, Magneto VS Tetsuo, where he fought against Tetsuo Shima from the Akira series.
He also appeared in the 34th episode of DBX, Magneto VS Darth Vader, where he fought against Darth Vader from the Star Wars series.
History
Max Eisenhardt was born the son of a middle-class German Jewish family in the 1920s. Following the Nazi's rise to power in Germany, Max and his family moved to Poland, where they were captured by Nazi forces and sent to a concentration camp. Here, his family would be executed, but Max would survive due to strange new powers manifesting within him, granting him control over magnetic forces. Max's experiences would shape him deeply, feeling that mutants like himself were inherently superior to humans.
Eventually taking on the name of Erik Magnus Lehnsherr, he worked together with a fellow mutant activist, Charles Xavier, hoping to create a world where his kind could live freely. However, he disagreed with Xavier's more peaceful ideologies, believing that mutants and humans could not peacefully coexist. Dubbing himself as "Magneto", Erik pursued his own, more violent methods of obtaining freedom, and gathered fellow mutants who thought the same way, forming the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Although he has noble intentions, Magneto's aggressive tactics and willingness to involve innocents would lead him time and time again to conflict with Xavier and his mutant students, the X-Men.
