J'onn J'onzz[Note 1], also known as the Martian Manhunter, is a superhero from DC Comics. He appeared in the 179th episode of Death Battle, Martian Manhunter VS Silver Surfer, where he fought against Silver Surfer from Marvel Comics.
History
J'onn J'onzz was born a Martian, which were a race of shapeshifting aliens with boundless telepathic prowess. J'onn lived a peaceful life, that is until his brother Ma'alefa'ak, who grew to deeply despise his race, unleashed a contagious virus that infected the entirety of Mars, killing everyone, including J'onn's own family. J'onn was left the sole survivor of his now barren home, and the traumatized Martian wandered the planet for centuries, until he was suddenly brought to Earth through both a freak accident and the curiosity of a scientist, who died shortly after from the sheer shock of it all. With no way back home, J'onn began hiding out in his new surroundings, taking on the guise of a recently deceased human detective named John Jones. After learning the value of helping the helpless through fighting crime, among other means, he would assist in forming the Justice League, adopting Earth as his new home, later even revealing his true identity to humanity, who J'onn would continue to protect as the "Martian Manhunter".
