Captain Monkey D. Luffy is the main protagonist of the One Piece series. He appeared in the 48th episode of DBX, Luffy VS Mr. Fantastic, where he fought against Mister Fantastic from Marvel Comics.
History
When Monkey D. Luffy was young, he was left in the care of his grandfather, who did many dangerous things to make Luffy stronger, like throwing him down a deep ravine, leaving him alone in the wild, and tying him to a balloon. When he was 6 years old, Luffy met Shanks and the Red Hair Pirates and wanted to join their crew, and stabbed himself below his left eye to prove himself, causing them to accept him. Eventually, he came across the Gum Gum Fruit and ate it without knowing what it was, permanently granting him a rubber body in exchange for the ability to swim.
One day, Luffy was captured by one of the Red Hair Pirates' enemies, Higuma, and got thrown overboard by him, leading to him being attacked by a Sea King known as the Lord of the Coast. Fortunately, Shanks was able to save Luffy from being eaten, though he lost his arm in the process. Luffy would eventually leave the Red Hair Pirates with the goal of one day becoming the Pirate King and was given Shank's straw hat to wear before he left. He would soon form his own crew of pirates, the Straw Hat Pirates, who would become his close friends and allies that accompany him through many adventures across the sea in search of the One Piece.
Cameo Appearances
Luffy made a small cameo appearance at the end of Naruto VS Ichigo, where his arm can be seen stealing Naruto's ramen during the post-fight animation.
