- —Rick Sanchez
Richard Daniel "Rick" Sanchez is one of the main protagonists of the Rick and Morty series. He appeared in the 185th episode of Death Battle, Rick Sanchez VS The Doctor, where he fought against The Doctor from the Doctor Who series.
History
Rick Sanchez was once just a modest man with a wife and daughter, but he also had an above modest intelligence, enough of such that he was deemed the smartest man in the universe. His entire world would change the day he met Rick Prime, an alternate version of himself from another dimension. Revealing to him the wonders of the infinite multiverse, Prime offered Rick a chance to travel it and all that lay beyond. But when Rick declined, Prime spitefully killed his family, causing Rick to embark on a lifelong quest for vengeance. Creating his own Portal Gun, Rick would hunt Prime across the multiverse, to no avail.
This caused him to build up unhealthy levels of emotional and mental baggage, leaving him a cynical wreck of his former self. It also led to an alliance of Ricks creating a peace treaty with Rick to stop him from killing them, and so they worked together to create the Citadel of Ricks, as well as the Central Finite Curve, a sanctioned section of the multiverse in which there is only one constant: Rick being the smartest. Eventually, Rick left the Citadel and arrived in Rick Prime's home dimension, where he took his place, assumed the role of Beth Smith's father, and went on many traumatic and mind-scarring adventures with his new grandson, Morty.
