Saitama, also known as the Caped Baldy,[Note 1] is the main protagonist of the One-Punch Man series. He appeared in the 155th episode and Season 8 Finale of Death Battle, Saitama VS Popeye, where he fought against Popeye from the Popeye series.
He also appeared in the fourth episode of DBX, Saitama VS Kenshiro, where he and Genos fought against Kenshiro from the Fist of the North Star series. He returned for the 86th episode and Season 5 Finale, Superman VS Saitama, where he fought against Superman from DC Comics.
History
Saitama was once an ordinary salaryman with no life ambition. All that changed when he found a child about to be attacked by a monster, which he proceeded to defeat with just his necktie. After this incident, Saitama set out to become a mighty superhero, starting a daily training schedule that consisted of 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and a 10km run. For breakfast, he only ate a banana and never used the air conditioner to strengthen his mental resistance. These daily activities were extremely tough and caused his body excruciating pain, but he pushed past his limits and kept up this routine day after day.
Having been born with no talent or potential, Saitama removed his Limiter through sheer effort, achieving immeasurable strength, but at the cost of losing his hair. Although Saitama wanted to be a hero for fun, he found his overwhelming power and ability to end every fight in a single punch alienating, leaving him unable to find joy in any battle. After meeting the cyborg Genos, the two would join the Hero Association and become professional heroes, which would lead Saitama to face increasingly powerful foes while receiving barely any credit for it. As the threats against the world increase every day, Saitama gladly welcomes the challenge, hoping for an enemy to appear that can give him the fighting thrill he deeply craves.
