Not to be confused with Kuai Liang, who is the current Scorpion from Mortal Kombat 1 onwards.
- —Scorpion
Grandmaster Hanzo Hasashi, also known as Scorpion, is one of the main protagonists of the Mortal Kombat series. He appeared in the 38th episode of Death Battle, Ryu VS Scorpion, where he fought against Ryu from the Street Fighter series.
He also appeared in the 59th episode of DBX, Batman VS Scorpion, where he fought against Batman from DC Comics.
History
Hanzo Hasashi was born into the Shirai Ryu ninja clan and was raised to be an assassin, becoming one of their finest warriors. Despite his father forbidding him to join, he did so nonetheless to provide for his wife and son. Tragedy would then strike when his family and his entire clan was wiped out, supposedly by the rival Lin Kuei clan. Seeking to get revenge, Hanzo tried to fight back, only to lose as well as get himself killed. He then awoke in the fiery depths of the Netherrealm. Desiring revenge for the massacre of his clan, Hanzo struck a deal with the sorcerer Quan Chi and returned to the mortal plane as a hellspawn named "Scorpion", swearing his deepest vengeance against the Lin Kuei warrior, Sub-Zero. But his grudge against the blue-clad ninja would prove to be more complex than he realized.
