Norrin Radd, also known as the Silver Surfer, is a superhero from Marvel Comics. He appeared in the 179th episode of Death Battle, Martian Manhunter VS Silver Surfer, where he fought against Martian Manhunter from DC Comics.
History
Once a young scientist from the planet Zenn-La, Norrin Radd's life and destiny would change forever when he came face to face with the Devourer of Worlds, Galactus, who had come to Zenn-La to devour it as well. Norrin pleaded and bargained for his world to be spared, and Galactus was persuaded. But in return, Norrin would serve as Galactus' herald and find him new worlds to consume. In order to do this, he was imbued with a portion of the Power Cosmic, giving him extraordinary new abilities. His body coated in chrome and given an equally chromatic surfboard, Norrin Radd had now become the "Silver Surfer". The Surfer would serve Galactus for centuries, leading his master to several planets, until his journeys brought him to Earth, where he encountered the superhero team, the Fantastic Four. Inspired by their heroism, the Surfer would soon break free of his bonds, rebel against Galactus and become a superhero, wandering the cosmos to defend it from any threats, all while pondering the nature of virtue, philosophy, and existence itself.
