Gwendolyn "Gwen" Stacy, also known as Ghost-Spider (originally Spider-Woman), is a superheroine from Marvel Comics. To differentiate her from the main universe Spider-Woman, she is commonly referred to as Spider-Gwen. She appeared in the 137th episode of Death Battle, Batgirl VS Spider-Gwen, where she fought against Batgirl from DC Comics.
History
Gwendolyne Stacy was the daughter of New York City's Police Captain George Stacy. Unlike her late main universe counterpart, this Gwen was more free-spirited and artistically inclined, which often put her at odds with the type of ethics her father worked to instill. Over time, she developed a friendship with her neighbor and fellow introvert Peter Parker, as well as forming a band called the Mary Janes. One fateful familiar day, however, she was bitten by a radioactive spider, and was granted arachnid-like super-powers. She then began a career as a superhero, dubbed by the media as "Spider-Woman", and given a costume and set of web-shooters by a retired crime fighter. Gwen spent most of her early adventures focused on exploiting and maintaining her newfound attention more than listening to her father's advice by helping those in need. But Gwen's behavior would soon change after her influence led to Peter turning himself into a lizard monster and dying in her arms, causing Gwen to go on the run, being suspected for killing a civilian. Now on a self-appointed exile of sorts, Gwen continues to fight crime with her dad's words in mind, helping those in need no matter the universe.
