Tien Shinhan is a protagonist from the Dragon Ball series. He appeared in the 43rd episode of DBX, Krillin VS Tien VS Yamcha, where he fought against fellow human Z-Fighters Krillin and Yamcha.
History
Since he was a child, Tien has been trained in martial arts at the Crane School, where his master and father figure Shen shaped him into a ruthless and extremely competitive fighter. As an adult, he would get a chance to prove his master proud when he and his peer Chioatzu entered the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, where they were pitted against students from Master Roshi's rival Turtle School. After easily beating and brutalizing Yamcha, he would finally face off against Roshi's star student, Goku.
Although they were matched in skill, Tien was shocked to find that Shen had ordered Chiaotzu to telekinetically freeze Goku to rig the match. This led to him and Chiaotzu defying their master, causing Shen to unsuccessfully try and kill Chiaotzu. Tien then went on to fairly fight Goku, and just barely won. Now disillusioned from his master's teachings, Tien began having a new outlook on life and began his path to redemption by fighting alongside Goku against the demonic King Piccolo. Though his strength once rivaled Goku's, Tien has since found himself far outclassed by both Goku and their enemies. Nevertheless, he is one of the strongest humans on Earth, and he continues to use his strength responsibly by fighting alongside his friends to protect their home at all costs, for not even the fear of death can make him stray from his new path.
