History
Born and raised in Russia, Zangief is a famed legendary wrestler and national hero whose prime motivation is his patriotic desire to fight for his country, earning him the nickname, the "Red Cyclone". The President promised Zangief the country's full support in exchange for traveling around the world and showing off the might of the Soviet Union, and to improve image abroad, an objective which Zangief wasn't made aware of. He then participated in the second World Warrior Tournament, hosted by Shadaloo, at the behest of the President, but loses. After which, Zangief, dissatisfied with the outcome, returned to training in the Russian wilderness, wrestling bears. He would then continue to represent his country various times in many tournaments, befriending many of the fighters and fighting against Shadaloo themselves, all while fighting for the pride of his country instead of personal gain.
